Worship Wednesday: Control (Somehow You want me)

Welcome to worship Wednesday!  While there are many forms of worship, I am so inspired by music. I feel like God can use songs and lyrics to speak to our hearts. These posts are things that God reveals to me in my time with Him. My hope is that you will be encouraged and blessed by what is shared here.

Today’s worship Wednesday is about a song by Tenth Avenue North called Control (Somehow You Want Me). This song really spoke to my heart the first time I heard it, because in the middle of the song he is crying out “You want me, somehow you want me, the King of Heaven wants me! And this world has lost its grip on me.” So let this blow your mind for a second: He wants You!

He wants you where you are right now. He wants to love you. He does love you, even if you don't get it or accept it yet. He wants you. “The King of Heaven wants me!” He has chosen you for His Kingdom! Jesus says in John 15: 16 “ You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give you.”

When you let Him have you fully, it's so freeing! To know your life is being held and guided by the King of Heaven. To know you no longer have to fight your battles alone, that you have already won victory because Jesus is on your side! “Yours, O Lord is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head over all.” 1 Chronicles 29:11

When you let go and give it all up to Him, all your fear, insecurities, your issues, He will take it all. He wants it all. He wants to take it from you! When you let it go and let Him have control, you better get ready! “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, HIs own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of HIm who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” 1 Peter 2:9

He has so many amazing things for you, some you may know and want and some may be greater than you ever imagined. But God has it for you. We are His children and He is a good Father and He will provide for us. We just have to get out of the way and let Him!
